Yes, that’s right. Meredith is now 8 years old. I remember when our first friends to have kids, Kim and Ian, celebrated their son’s 5th birthday (I think) and I couldn’t imagine when we’d have a child that age. And here we are, three years past that! We had a great day, starting with breakfast at IHOP where the wait staff got the whole restaurant to sing to her, and they brought her a hot fudge sundae (to go with her hot chocolate and chocolate chip pancakes…ugh). We then moved on to the official birthday party at the ice skating rink, where she even got her Grammie out on the ice. Then we went to dinner at Medieval Times – a place I anticipated would be kind of hokey but was actually a ton of fun! I was so exhausted that I slept until noon the next day, something I haven’t done in probably 15 years, and never could do that often to begin with.
